MCWAP works to ensure that no woman or child in Pakistan dies due to preventable causes.
About Us
Since our founding in 1961, the Maternal & Child Welfare Association of Pakistan (MCWAP) has provided free and quality medical services to indigent pregnant women, newborn babies and infants. We are a voluntary, non-profit, and non-government organization led by physicians, federal ministers, social activists, and professors. We run several maternal and child health centers which provide critical services including:
- Immunization and family health screenings
- Family planning services
- Training healthcare workers and traditional birth attendants
- Raising awareness on water, sanitation, and health issues
- Preventing diseases like Hepatitis and diabetes
- Promoting and improving school health services
- Empowering women to adopt health-related behavior changes, such as in personal hygiene and environmental sanitation
- Conducting and disseminating research findings in maternal, child and family health
